Su Yen

Hi! My name is Su Yen but most people call me Su. I am Chinese but I’m from Malaysia (Malaysian born Chinese basically) and I live in Singapore. I am 13 years old and I go to United World College (UWC). There are actually two United World Colleges in Singapore and I go to the Dover one. Owls are my favourite animal and I really, really love them. I really like listening to music too and I wouldn’t be able to live without it. My favourite type of art is drawing because I think it’s amazing how much pencils can actually do. There are a lot of really good artists on Instagram like Kristina Webb (@colour_me_creative on Instagram) and they really inspire me. I also like painting but I haven’t done that much painting. I actually really like photography too. Right now, in art we’re working on low relief houses made out of cardboard. We’re working on different methods of building cardboard and making it look 3D. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert at anything but I think drawing is one of my stronger points in art. But something I’d really like to improve on in art is drawing self portraits and also making sculptures.
