Ananya

Hi! My name is Ananya and I am 12 years old. I am from India and study in UWCSEA Dover. My favourite food is pasta and sushi. I play the piano and I fangirl a lot. I listen to music a lot and I love boy bands, especially One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer. My favourite type of art is doodling because I think that doodling is really simple and easy to do but still looks really nice. I also really like drawing because you can do a lot with just pencils. I think that the drawing unit in art was one of my favourites because it was really fun. The above picture was one of my drawings. I would like to improve at sculpture because I’m not really good at it. I think that I’m not really good at building things. There are a lot of really good artists online that do art of things that I like Kristina Webb (@color_me_creative). She does really good drawings of things like Disney and movies and YouTube. Also @_artistiq is really good. She draws photos of celebrities and things like that.

  1. Some fabulous patterns Ananya. The composition mixed and moulds them into some really interesting shapes. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I love the intricate patterns in your drawing and the monochrome photograph makes she shapes look really bold.

  3. One thing I really like about your drawing is even though it is a drawing, I love how nothing in the picture, especially the circles don't seem to overlap or seem to seep together, also everything seems so clean and neat, there are no smudges or eraser marks in it, it seems like you never had to erase it. I would like to ask, what different kinds of pencils did you use, did you use ones that had varied values, or just a regular pencil pushed harder in some places? One thing that I think would make this artwork even better is that maybe you lightly shaded in some places where there are white space, especially in the patterns in the top left corner.

  4. Hi, Ananya! I'm Charlotte. I love your work! I love the varried shapes and forms in the doodle. They are simple, but I love how they look very intricate when together. Doodling is one of my favorite forms of art too! I like the simplicity of the mediums (pens and pencils). Why (if you did) did you start with three cirles in the middle? To start with some diferent space, or just to get something on the paper? I love your work! Awesome job!

  5. I really love how the circles that seem to overlap the rest pop out. It's like a magnifying effect even though the background has a different pattern from it. I also love how the every part has their own original pattern. Did you only use pen for that? If so you did a great job filling in all the dark spaces and changing the pen to a different shade of grey. If I were to add something to this I'd darken around the circles to give it a shadow. Then it would look more 3D and pop out more.

    1. Hi Nicole,

Thanks so much! I used pen for everything, but I used different thicknesses. I actually used a black pen for everything but I put an effect on it so it might appear grey. I love your advice about making it 3D, maybe I'll try that next time!

  6. Doodles are the best! I love the different details and designs all over the place. How long did it take you to make this? It looks like it took years :). Also, have you ever thought about adding color? Or do you want to keep it black and white?

    2. Hi Alex,

Thank you so much! It actually took quite long to do but I really enjoyed doing it! At first I was going to use color but then, I changed my mind because I though that black and white suited this better.

      Thanks again,
      Ananya

  7. Hi Ananya! I really like to doodle as well! I think that your artwork is great and you can tell that you put the time into it. The details are really nice and overall it looks great!
I just want to ask how did you actually do this artwork, did you use a ruler or did you just freestyle.
I really can't find anything for you to improve on, overall great job!

    1. Hi Seid!

      Thank you so much!

I used a circular object to outline the circles but the rest I did freehand.

      Thanks again,
      Ananya
